How we choose topics
- Real founder questions first. We write about decisions cross-border founders actually face: forming a US company, staying compliant, raising money and paying for AI tools.
- Useful, not just new. A topic earns a page when we can add something a reader can act on: a deadline, a cost on your own numbers, or a clear comparison.
- Scope is stated. If a guide applies only to certain people, such as Canadian residents or single-member LLCs, it says so near the top.
Official sources first
Facts about taxes, filings and fees come from the body that sets them: the IRS, state secretaries of state, the Delaware Division of Corporations, the Canada Revenue Agency, the Australian Taxation Office and the vendor's own pricing page. Secondary sources are used for context and are labeled as such. Every article lists the sources it relies on. Our full checklist is on How we research.
Every price and rule is dated
Prices and rules change. Each article shows when it was published and last updated, and figures carry a "checked on" date so you know how fresh they are. Converted prices name the exchange rate and the date it was taken. Time-sensitive pages are reviewed on a regular schedule, described on How we research.
Independence from advertisers and affiliates
Sponsors, advertisers and affiliate partners never review, approve or change editorial content. Money never changes a recommendation, a ranking or a calculator's result, and we recommend products with no affiliate program when they are the better choice. How the site earns money is explained in the affiliate and sponsor disclosure.
How we use AI
We use software tools, including AI, to help research and draft; every published page is reviewed and fact-checked against primary sources before publishing. A person decides what is published and is responsible for it.
Not legal or tax advice
Our guides explain how rules work in general. They are not legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and your situation may differ. Read the disclaimer and talk to a qualified professional before you act.

Terms we use
