Lovable vs Replit vs Bolt Pricing: What $25 Actually Buys

All three AI app builders start near $20 to $25 a month but sell different units. A Lovable change runs roughly $0.13 to $0.30; here is what the other two buy.

Short answer: Lovable Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, Replit Core is $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) with $20 of usage toward more powerful models, and Bolt Pro is $25 a month for 10 million tokens. Lovable is the most predictable for non-technical founders because it publishes what typical prompts cost. Replit suits people who want a real cloud IDE with hosting and databases. Bolt is the simplest for quick front-end prototypes.

The catch is that the three sell different units. Lovable sells credits, Replit meters AI work in dollars by effort, and Bolt sells tokens. This guide translates each into what it buys, using only the vendors’ own pricing pages and docs, checked 28 October 2026. We have not run our own same-task tests, so there are no “we built the same app” numbers here.

Price table: Lovable vs Replit vs Bolt (as of October 2026)

Checked 28 October 2026. USD, before tax. Prices change often.

Plan Price What’s included Who should NOT buy it
Lovable Free $0 5 build credits a day (up to 30 a month), 20 Cloud credits, 4 AI credits a month, daily chat allowance Anyone building more than a weekend demo
Lovable Pro $25 (100 credits) to $2,250 (10,000 credits) a month Monthly credits plus 5 daily build credits with no monthly cap; 20 Cloud, 4 AI and 1 connector credit a month Teams that need governance controls
Lovable Business $50 (100 credits) to $4,300 (10,000 credits) a month Pro features plus team and governance controls Solo founders
Replit Starter $0 Daily cap on Agent chat, 1 published app (30 days) Anything you need to keep online
Replit Core $20 a month, $18 billed yearly Up to 30 hours of chat and up to 60 projects on Free Mode, $20 toward more powerful models, Plan mode, 5 collaborators Heavy daily Agent users
Replit Pro $100 a month ($90 yearly); higher tiers to $2,000 a month billed yearly $100 of credits, 10 parallel agents, 15 collaborators, 50 viewers, 28-day database rollback Hobby projects
Bolt Free $0 1M tokens a month, 300K daily limit, Bolt branding, hosting Client work (branding stays on)
Bolt Pro $25 a month Starts at 10M tokens a month, rollover, custom domain, no daily limit Large codebases that burn tokens fast
Bolt Teams $30 per member a month Starts at 10M tokens per member Solo builders

Lovable’s full Pro and Business ladder

Lovable prices plans by credits, not seats. Workspaces support unlimited members, who share one credit pool (Lovable pricing FAQ).

Monthly credits Pro (USD/mo) Pro cost per credit Business (USD/mo)
100 $25 $0.250 $50
200 $50 $0.250 $100
400 $100 $0.250 $200
800 $200 $0.250 See pricing page
1,200 $294 $0.245 See pricing page
2,000 $480 $0.240 See pricing page
10,000 $2,250 $0.225 $4,300

Business credits cost more because Business adds team features. Lovable says running an app and using AI features cost the same dollar value on both plans; Business simply deducts fewer credits because each credit is worth more (Lovable credits docs). Lovable’s docs give the “plan credit rate” as $0.25 per credit on Pro and $0.50 on Business.

What a credit (or token) actually buys

Lovable: published examples per prompt

Lovable is the only one of the three that publishes example costs. Build mode is usage-based, priced by the complexity of the request (Lovable credits docs):

Prompt (Lovable’s example) Credits Cost at $0.25/credit (Pro)
“Make the button gray” 0.50 $0.125
“Remove the footer” 0.90 $0.225
“Add authentication” 1.20 $0.30
“Build a landing page with images” 1.70 (pricing page) to 2.00 (docs) $0.43 to $0.50

Other rules worth knowing:

  • Plan mode costs 1 credit per message, plus any subagent research Lovable runs while planning.
  • Long runs pause at a check-in level, 20 credits by default, so one message cannot silently drain your balance. A single message can run for up to 10 hours.
  • Goal runs (the /goal command) cost noticeably more for the same work, according to the docs.
  • Hosting and AI features in your deployed app draw from the same balance after the monthly Cloud and AI grants run out.
  • Out of credits means building stops, AI features in deployed apps stop, and apps on Lovable Cloud pause.

Lovable chat pricing ends 31 October 2026

Lovable’s docs state that the current chat pricing model, including the per-message price and the daily chat allowance, applies through October 31, 2026, and label it a “temporary offering, subject to change” (Lovable credits docs). It covers messages in Chats and Chat mode, including Slack, Telegram and voice requests.

What the page does not say is what replaces it after 31 October. It does say that Build mode, Plan mode, image and video generation, and Cloud and AI usage follow standard pricing and are not part of the offer, so the costs in the table above are not affected. The monthly Cloud, AI and connector grants are also described as temporary. If you rely on free daily chat, check the docs in November before budgeting.

Replit: effort-based, billed in dollars

Replit does not publish per-prompt examples. Its docs describe effort-based pricing: each Agent request creates one checkpoint, and the cost depends on how complex the work was. Replit asks you to confirm before a paid action. Third-party AI APIs your app calls are billed at the provider’s public API rate from your credits, and credits also pay for publishing, storage and databases (Replit AI billing, usage-based billing).

In practice: Core gives you $20 a month of usage for more powerful models on top of Free Mode chat, and Pro gives you $100. Pro credits roll over for two months. Core includes 100 GiB of outbound data, and paid production databases can store up to 100 GiB.

Bolt: tokens, and project size matters

Bolt sells tokens. Free has 1 million a month with a 300K daily cap; Pro starts at 10 million with no daily cap and unused tokens roll over. Bolt’s FAQ explains that most token usage comes from syncing your project’s file system to the AI, so the larger the project, the more tokens each message uses (Bolt pricing). Bolt does not publish a tokens-per-message figure, so you cannot convert 10M tokens into a fixed number of edits in advance.

Worked example: a $25 to $50 monthly budget

Here is what each tool’s own numbers say a modest budget buys. These are arithmetic on published figures, not test results.

Lovable Pro 100 ($25):

  • 100 monthly credits, plus 5 daily build credits. If you build every day of a 30-day month, that is up to 5 × 30 = 150 extra credits (unused daily credits expire each day).
  • Up to 250 credits in a busy month.
  • At Lovable’s “add authentication” example (1.20 credits): 250 ÷ 1.20 ≈ 208 feature-sized changes. At the “make the button gray” example (0.50): 500 small edits.
  • Stepping up to Pro 200 ($50) adds 100 more credits, about 83 more feature-sized changes.

Replit Core ($20, or $18 yearly):

  • Free Mode chat (up to 30 hours) plus $20 of usage for more powerful models. How many Agent requests that covers depends on the effort of each one, which Replit shows you before charging.
  • Pro at $100 gives five times the usage allowance plus parallel agents.

Bolt Pro ($25):

  • 10M tokens a month. On a small project each message syncs fewer files, so tokens stretch further; on a large one they run out faster. Rollover softens a heavy month.

The pattern: Lovable lets you estimate in advance, Replit tells you per request, and Bolt depends on how big your project grows.

In Canadian and Australian dollars

At ExchangeRate-API’s 29 October 2026 rates (US$1 = C$1.4018 = A$1.4198) (source):

Plan USD CAD before tax AUD before tax
Replit Core (monthly) $20 C$28.04 A$28.40
Lovable Pro 100 / Bolt Pro $25 C$35.05 A$35.50
Lovable Pro 200 $50 C$70.09 A$70.99
Replit Pro (monthly) $100 C$140.18 A$141.98

All three say prices exclude or are subject to tax. Canadian consumers may see 5% GST or 13% to 15% HST, and Australian consumers 10% GST, on foreign digital services. Our Cursor pricing explainer covers how those taxes apply, with official sources.

Who should use which

You are… Pick Why Who should NOT
A non-technical founder building a web app or MVP Lovable Pro Published per-prompt costs, unlimited members, hosting and AI features from one balance Teams needing a full IDE or non-web stacks
A developer who wants a cloud IDE with hosting and databases Replit Core, then Pro Real workspace, publishing, databases, parallel agents on Pro Anyone who wants a fixed, predictable AI bill
Prototyping front ends fast on a fixed budget Bolt Pro Simple token allowance, rollover, custom domain Large apps that grow beyond a few screens
A team or class sharing one budget Lovable (workspace credit pool) No per-seat pricing; admins can cap credits per member Groups that need per-seat invoicing
A student Lovable Pro with student discount 50% off Pro 100 monthly for up to 12 months per Lovable’s docs Students who only need a free tier

Bottom line

Start on the free tier of the tool that matches how you work, then pay for the smallest plan once you hit its cap. For most non-technical founders that is Lovable Pro at $25, because you can see the cost of each change before it surprises you. Re-check Lovable’s chat pricing after 31 October 2026, and confirm all three pricing pages before you subscribe, since app-builder pricing moves fast.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Lovable cost per month?
Lovable Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits ($250 a year) and scales to 10,000 credits for $2,250. Business starts at $50 for 100 credits. Pro and Business also get 5 daily build credits with no monthly cap. Free gets 5 a day, up to 30 a month.
What does one Lovable credit buy?
Lovable's examples: making a button gray costs 0.50 credits, removing a footer 0.90, adding authentication 1.20, and building a landing page with images 1.70 to 2.00. Plan mode costs 1 credit per message plus any subagent research.
Is Replit cheaper than Lovable?
At entry level, yes on sticker price: Replit Core is $20 a month ($18 yearly) versus Lovable Pro at $25. But Replit's AI work draws on a $20 monthly usage allowance priced by effort, so heavy Agent use can cost more. Compare on what you build, not the plan price.
What happens to Lovable chat pricing after October 31, 2026?
Lovable's docs say the current chat pricing model, including the per-message price and daily chat allowance, applies through 31 October 2026 and is temporary and subject to change. The docs do not say what replaces it. Build mode, Plan mode, Cloud and AI usage keep standard pricing.
How many tokens does Bolt use per message?
Bolt does not publish a fixed figure. Its pricing FAQ says most token usage comes from syncing your project's file system to the AI, so the larger the project, the more tokens each message uses. Pro starts at 10 million tokens a month.
Do Lovable credits roll over?
Yes, while your subscription is active. On monthly plans, unused plan credits expire two months after they are issued; on annual plans, one month after the annual period ends. Top-up credits last 12 months. Daily build credits expire at the end of each day.
